Un Nuevo Tiempo is the only opposition party being allowed to run in the May 25th vote for new governors, lawmakers and state legislatures.
The list of UNT candidates for the National Assembly is has been leaked, featuring several figures from outside the party’s ranks. Henrique Capriles leads the list, followed by Tomás Guanipa in fourth place, Henri Falcón, and MAS Secretary General Felipe Mujica.
What about the other pro-vote groups?
Movimiento por Venezuela (MPV), which endorsed president-elect Edmundo González, was barred from the ballot—along with Centrados, the minor center-left party that nominated Enrique Márquez in last year’s presidential elections, who remains in prison.
Meanwhile, there are rumors that a new party promoted by the Capriles camp—ÚNICA—will appear on the ballot, but this hasn’t been confirmed.
