In some cases, voting centers that had already been closed have been reopened under military pressure: a brazen violation of the election law that has, in the past, been used to stuff the ballot illegally in the governing party’s favor.
It is unprecedented for the military, specifically, to interfere in the voting process this openly. In previous votes, it had been civilian groups, often on motorcycles, that had been used to this end.
